Willie Revillame scolds Ethel Booba, Ate Gay on TV

Willie Revillame’s show on TV5, “Wowowillie,” took an unexpected turn of events on February 28 when Willie himself strode on stage to tell off co-hosts Ethel Booba and Ate Gay.

The music stopped and the female presenters walked off stage as Willie tiraded about how Ethel had confronted him in the dressing room.

“Hindi sila professional. Sinigawan ko sila para malaman ninyo. Nagalit sila dahil ‘di sila nanalo sa costume (They are not professional. I shouted at them, so you know. They were angry that they didn’t win the costume contest),” he blasted.

He emphasized that his co-hosts had taken the loss too much to heart.

“Itong lahat ng ito biruan lang. Ito'y para pasayahin kayo (These are all for fun. These are to make you guys happy.),” Willie told his audience.

Amidst the applause of his supportive audience and twinkling sound effects, he declared, “You don't do that to me. Dahil ako binibigyan ko kayo ng pagkakataon sa buhay. I am the producer, I am the host, ako ang nag-iisip ng ika-gaganda. Ang iniisip ko dito ay publiko at hindi kayo (I give you a chance at life. I am the producer, I am the host, I'm the one who thinks of ways to improve the show. I think of the public, not you),” he added, seemingly addressing the two co-hosts.

He then returned to his theme of respect.

“Ethel, galing ka sa baba inaangat kita, ‘yun ang gagawin mo sakin? (Ethel, you came from below and I raised you. That’s what you do to me?)”

“Ate Gay, binibigyan kita ng break, okay? Magkaroon kayo ng utang na loob (Ate Gay, I’m giving you a break, okay? Have some sense of gratitude).”

Close to ending his speech, he appealed once more to the audience.

“‘Di kami ang bida dito. Ang publiko ang bida sa programang ito (We are not the stars of the show. The public is the star of this program).”
